- 4 chicken thighs, bone-in, skin-on
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2–3 jalapeños, sliced
- 1 cup buttermilk
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Whisk together the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Dip each chicken thigh into the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off.
- Roll the chicken in the seasoned flour mixture, pressing to adhere.
- Pour oil into a skillet and heat over medium until shimmering.
- Carefully add the chicken thighs and jalapeño slices in batches, frying for 6-8 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove from the skillet and let them rest on a paper towel-lined plate.
Notes
For a healthier option, try air frying or baking the chicken instead of frying.
