Description

Ingredients

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 can (4 oz) diced green chiles
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to create a roux.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk, cooking until the mixture thickens.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the cheddar cheese and sour cream until smooth.
  6. Add the cooked macaroni and diced green chiles to the cheese sauce, mixing well.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and top with Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until bubbly and golden on top.
