- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda

- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together the butter, sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, along with the vanilla extract.
- Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, and salt in another bowl.
- Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
- Drop the dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between them.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers remain soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Feel free to customize with nuts or different types of chocolate chips. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
