Description

Delight in the buttery richness and airy lightness of this milk brioche, perfect for breakfast or brunch.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g all-purpose flour
  • 60g sugar
  • 10g salt
  • 10g instant yeast
  • 5 large eggs
  • 250ml whole milk
  • 200g unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add the eggs and whole milk, stirring until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Incorporate the softened butter gradually and mix until fully integrated.
  4. Toss the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes.
  5. Place the kneaded dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and allow to rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the risen dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  7. Let it rise again in a warm place for about an hour.
  8. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  9. Brush the dough with egg wash and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  10. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For added flavor, consider including vanilla extract or citrus zest. Always use room temperature ingredients for best results.
