Ingredients

- Sweet Yellow or White Onions
- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 cup Cornstarch
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- Oil for Frying
Instructions
- Slice the onions into 1/8-inch thick rings.
- Soak the rings in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
- Prepare the flour mixture by whisking together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt.
- Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Coat the onion rings with the seasoned flour mixture.
- Fry the coated rings in batches for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with salt.
- Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.

For a healthier option, try baking or using an air fryer instead of frying.
