- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 stick (1/2 cup) salted butter, softened (for frosting)
- 3 tbsp cream cheese, softened
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)
- 2 tbsp milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a 9×9 baking pan with parchment paper.
- Beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together using an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
- Whisk together the flour and baking powder in a separate bowl, then gradually add to the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the patriotic sprinkles.
- Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared pan.
- Bake for 20-22 minutes, or until edges are golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
- Beat together the powdered sugar, softened butter, cream cheese, vanilla, and milk for the frosting until smooth.
- Spread frosting over cooled bars and top with extra sprinkles.
- Slice into squares and serve.
