Description
A delightful appetizer featuring crispy baguette slices topped with creamy ricotta, sweet pears, and toasted walnuts, drizzled with honey and garnished with fresh thyme.
Ingredients

- 1 large baguette or sourdough loaf, sliced thick
- 2 tbsp olive oil (for brushing)
- 1 cup fresh ricotta cheese (or goat cheese)
- 1–2 ripe pears (Bosc or Anjou), cored and thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup walnuts, roughly chopped
- 3 tbsp honey (or hot honey)
- Fresh thyme sprigs (for garnish)
- Pinch of flaky sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) or heat a grill pan over medium heat.
- Brush each slice of bread lightly with olive oil and bake or grill for about 5–7 minutes until golden and crispy. Let cool slightly on a wire rack.
- Toast the walnuts in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3–4 minutes until fragrant and lightly browned.
- Spread a layer of ricotta over each piece of toasted bread and arrange 2–3 pear slices on top.
- Scatter the toasted walnuts over the pears.
- Drizzle with honey and finish with fresh thyme leaves and a pinch of flaky sea salt.
- Serve immediately while the bread is crispy.
Notes
Assemble just before serving to maintain the freshness of the ingredients. Can substitute goat cheese or different nuts for variety.
