- 1 cup sourdough discard
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tsp instant yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Mix the sourdough discard, warm water, and instant yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes.
- Add the flour, salt, sugar, and melted butter to the mixture, stirring to form a shaggy dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
- Gently punch down the risen dough and divide it into 1-2 inch pieces.
- Coat each piece in melted butter, then roll in minced garlic and chopped parsley.
- Layer the coated dough balls in a greased baking dish, adding mozzarella between layers.
- Cover the dish and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
