Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sourdough discard
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Mix the sourdough discard, warm water, and instant yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes.
  2. Add the flour, salt, sugar, and melted butter to the mixture, stirring to form a shaggy dough.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
  5. Gently punch down the risen dough and divide it into 1-2 inch pieces.
  6. Coat each piece in melted butter, then roll in minced garlic and chopped parsley.
  7. Layer the coated dough balls in a greased baking dish, adding mozzarella between layers.
  8. Cover the dish and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy!
