- 4 cups water
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 slices bacon, chopped
- 1 cup chicken broth

- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- In a pot, bring water to a boil and add grits. Cook according to package instructions until creamy.
- In a skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside, leaving the drippings in the skillet.
- Add garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1 minute.
- Add shrimp, chicken broth, lemon juice, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Cook until shrimp are pink and cooked through.
- Serve the shrimp mixture over the creamy grits and top with crispy bacon and green onions.
Notes
- For a spicier dish, increase the amount of cayenne pepper.
- Feel free to add other seasonings like paprika or Old Bay for extra flavor.
- Grits can be made ahead of time and reheated before serving.
