Description

Deliciously crispy and nutty crackers made from sourdough discard, perfect for snacking or serving with dips.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sourdough discard
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (substitute whole wheat for a nuttier flavor)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon herbs (like rosemary or thyme, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the sourdough discard, flour, olive oil, salt, and optional garlic powder and herbs in a mixing bowl. Stir until a cohesive dough forms.
  3. Roll out the dough on a floured surface as thinly as possible, about 1/8 inch thick.
  4. Cut into desired shapes using a knife or pastry cutter.
  5. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space for airflow.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden and crisp.
  7. Allow to cool completely on a wire rack before enjoying.

Notes

Experiment with different spices and herbs to customize your crackers. To store, keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
